New HD Cameras by Sony France

I’ve had the pleasure to come to Sony France offices to admire their new HDcamera : the Cinealta F23. The target is clearly the high quality feature films, and no shame comparing to a film camera. The DOP who were there were pretty much impressed by the F23.
Tiffen was there too, letting the DOP try new filters they have developped to soften the skin when you shoot faces in HD. Without putting a noticeable effect on the overall image, it make the skin looks softier and more mate. Look for the HDTV/FX filters on Tiffen website for more details. I guess these filters will be my best friends for close-up in HD.
The purpose of the Sony event was also to show their new test room. They have build a little studio, nicely put by set decorators, so that DOP can check as many kind of light and effect they can with the camera and check if the camera they want would do the trick for their next project.
I was able to come one day and show the airbrush to the DOP and productions. The interest was there I can say.
Airbrush is making its way now, (at last) in France and you will see it more and more often on set.Very thin make-up, you cannot notice it on talents, especially men. So you get the most natural result possible, even on bad skin. Temptu has developped a special foundation giving a pure matt appearance for indoor filming, so you don’t have to fight all day with skin shining. I’ll show you what it’s like soon I hope on this blog.
I have also the pleasure to meet Mr Bogard, who run a well known company of material renting and a professional make-up shop in Paris. He told me about the fluid make-up from the Visiora brand (i love heir PC compact powder already) used diluted as a great airbrush foundation. I am to have a try… Love to test products ! i will keep you posted about it.
Have a nice WE.
